I haven't posted in quite a while, because I've been working a lot, busy with other stuff and somewhat of a recluse.
So far this year I've rescued one dog (who was reunited with his people), a baby bunny who'd wandered into my barber's shop and couldn't find his way out (I've got fast, but gentle hands), eleven ferrel kittens, one pigeon (who had a close call with a peregrine falcon) and one fledgling kestrel falcon (who I got some nice pics of before he went to the birdie rehab dealy). Gee I like parenthesis.
I've been slowly, but surely working on my backyard gardens, got my koi and goldfish out in the fountain and released about eight hundred baby praying mantids, back there.I still have to plant my water gardens and put in my solar pathway lights. Plus there's tons of other stuff to do, back there. Gardening is an exellent form of work-meditation for me.
I got to see my extended family for Father's Day and gave my Dad a nifty shaving mug, brush and two cakes of scented shave soap. Now he doesn't have to throw away anymore shaving cream cans, which is an issue, as he lives on Washington Island, WI and they have to keep track of every bit of garbage, up there.
Which brings me to my latest obsession: collecting old straight edge razors. I'm planning on selling some of them, after I have a quantity and learn more about them. But, from what I already know, I can spot the good ones pretty well and know their general value. There are some good finds at estate sales and online auctions.
Still, money is tight, right now and I've been going kinda heavy with this latest hoarding-type whim.
I also made a nifty desk fountain with ficus benjamina bonsais on it.

Cute little guy...beautiful plumage and razor-sharp talons and beak. May he eat lotsa mousies and have lotsa babies.
